Where do i copy petals-webconsole-ui-2.0.4.war into to be able to display the webconsole...? I have found a folder in my file system located at /etc/tomcat7/ . Is it the right one? I have tried to copy petals-webconsole-ui-2.0.4.war in /etc/tomcat7/, /etc/tomcat7/Cataline, /etc/tomcat7/policy.d but when i call localhost:8080/ petals-webconsole-ui-2.0.4,  it's not working.

Please, tell me where is the RIGH tomcat's folder i'm supposed to use?

Thank you.

Hi,

Petals works on both Windows and Linux.
There are very few differences between the two when using Petals. The main difference is about the URL shapes. What's bothering you when moving to Ubuntu?

Hi,

The folder is always webapps.
But I guess you installed Tomcat with sudo apt-get install. So, your Tomcat directories are all over the file system.

Try with the Tomcat administration console.
First, update the tomcat-users.xml, as described here.
As an example, here is my admin user.

<user username="admin" password="admin" roles="manager,admin"/>

Then, restart Tomcat and go to http://localhost:8080/deployer/ (or maybe it is manager instead of deployer)
On the page, there is an upload form, to select the web application to deploy (here, the Petals web console).

Remember to use Apache Tomcat 6.x.
We plan to review and improve the tutorials before summer.
Right now, we are focused on some important upgrades in the tooling to come with our next maintenance release.
